You follow below steps to hide recycle bin on desktop in windows xp.

Steps:

1. Click on Start Menu.
2. Then click on Run and type” GPEDIT.MSC” in text box.
3. Then click on ok button.
4. Then opens Group policy window,and in the left side click on Administrative Templates.
5. After that click on Desktop.
6. Then right side right click on Remove Recycle Bin Icon from Desktop and then click on Properties.
7. Then click on Disable option button.
8. Then click on OK button.
