How to enter new product key in Windows XP?

You follow below steps to enter new product key in Windows XP.

Steps:

1. Click on Start Menu.
2. Then click on Run and type “regedit” in text box,and then click on Ok button.
   
3. Open the Registry editor and click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents.
   
4. Then right side right click on OOBETimer and select Modify.
   
5. After that opens Edit Binary Value window and change "Value" then click on Ok button.
   
6. Then close Registry editor.
7. After that click on Run and type “%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a”and then click on Ok button.
   
8. Then Activate windows open click on Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows radio button and then click on Next button.
9. Then Click on Change Product Key button.
10. After Enter new product key and then click on Update button.
11. Then please you wait Activation Wizard will generate a new Installation ID.
12. After that click on Back button and then click on Reminder me button.
13. Then click on ok button.
